Hivern a Barcelona

For this personal issue. I wanted to create a typeface that could embody the personality of catalonian elements; with architectural styles, florals linked to catalan modernism; in an unreadable but with the aim of it having visual strength. Also, hivern a Barcelona, which translates to winter in Barcelona had to have some winter resemblance to it, and that’s something I could work on texturizing it on Blender.

The work itself has a final postproduction on photoshop, so the beginning to end goes from drafting it on paper, vectorizing it in Illustrator, render in blender plus light and contrast correction in Photoshop.

The final work consists in a 10 pages fanzine with personal texts that accompany images that were taken during that winter, applying typography work, editorial experience and an experimental touch that could represent what that era was.

As a billingual myself, the fanzine itself goes from Spanish to English with ease.

A video was also created, making the sound design for it, to also showcase videos recorded in that time.
